Att det har blivit dyrare att genomföra kliniska studier i Sverige bekräftar Daniel Spasic, vd och grundare av CRO-företaget TFS. Han menar att priserna gått upp ungefär 50 procent under de senaste tio åren och att det huvudsakligen beror på ökade krav på dokumentation och att landstingen vill täcka sin kostnader helt och hållet.
- Våra marginaler har inte förbättrats, säger Daniel Spasic.
Johan Järte planerar en studie på 140 patienter och priset han hittat i Sverige är 85 000 kronor per patient. Han menar att hans bolag gärna betalar för den extrakostnad som den kliniska studien innebär men att dagens priser är högre än de extrakostnader som en klinisk studie innebär för kliniken.
- Vårt problem är att vi sysslar med cellterapi. Hade vi gjort piller hade vi åkt till Baltikum direkt och gjort studierna.
Nina Rehnqvist är ordförande för delegationen för samverkan inom klinisk forskning vars mål bland annat är just att stärka samarbetet mellan sjukvården och näringslivet. Hon har också noterat prisökningen på de kliniska studierna.
- Jag kan förstå att det är ett problem för de mindre företagen, vi ska jobba för att förbättra detta, säger Nina Rehnqvist.
Sverige har också halkat ner till tolfte plats den europeiska rankingen för antal pågående kliniska studier, enligt Swedenbios årliga pipelinerapport.
- Det är fritt fall just nu. Ska vi stimulera svensk forskning behövs det incitament för att genomföra kliniska studier, säger Johan Järte.
