Varför lämnar du vd-posten på ett företag för att leda en branschorganisation?
– Sedan förra året har jag arbetat som konsult-vd och hjälpt ett företag, Cathprint, med olika delar i dess utvecklingsfas. Att nu kliva in på heltid på Swedenbio är en fantastisk möjlighet för mig att få arbeta med att stödja många företag i stället.
Du har slutat på två jobb inom loppet av ett halvår. Hur länge blir du kvar på denna position?
– När jag förra året slutade på Sentoclone efter tre år och gick över till att bli konsult så har jag hela tiden haft en önskan att få arbeta med branschövergripande frågor, vilket jag brinner för. Jag hoppas naturligtvis att jag nu får möjlighet att se branschens frågor bli prioriterade.
Sweden Bio har under lång tid drivit specifika frågor, som expertskatt och skatteavdrag. Är de fortfarande de mest prio-
riterade?
– Jag kommer att sätta mig med styrelsen när jag börjat, vilket blir den 1 juni, och gå igenom våra frågor för att se om något i vår prioritering ska förändras.
Sweden Bios medlemstillströmning har planat ut. Vad är ditt mål – fler företag eller att driva frågor?
– Driver vi på Sweden Bios frågor på rätt sätt, får genomslag och visar på ett mervärde för medlemmarna, så blir en god medlemstillströmning en av de positiva effekterna.
Vad tror du om framtiden för life science-industrin?
– Sverige har en unik position i världen. Vi har en fin innovationshistorik och en mycket stor life science-industri. Nu när finanskrisens klor har börjat släppa finns det en bra möjlighet för en god framtid.
Vilken är den största utmaningen för branschen?
– Jag har endast erfarenhet från ett par företag och utifrån min egen begränsade erfarenhet skulle jag säga att det är att få en god struktur på stödjandet av innovationer från ax till limpa. Det vill säga att se till att vi får ut produkterna på marknaden. Jag kommer dock säkert att se många fler viktiga utmaningar när jag börjat vilket ska bli riktigt intressant och stimulerande.
