Karolinska development presenterade idag, fredag, sin delårsrapport för perioden januari-september. I samband med detta meddelar investmentbolaget att det ena portföljbolaget, Avaris, inte uppnått de mål som satts upp och att Karolinska development nu stoppar finansieringen.
Avaris, som utvecklar cellterapier, har nu tagits ur Karolinska developments portfölj.
För det tredje kvartalet, juli-september, gick Karolinska developments omsättning upp till 1,9 miljoner kronor. Det är en minskning från samma period föregående år då omsättningen var 3,1 miljoner kronor. Hittills i år, perioden januari-september uppgår omsättningen till 7,1 miljoner kronor, även det lägre jämfört med samma period 2010 då omsättningen var 11,5 miljoner kronor.
Detta innebär bolaget ökar förlusten i resultat efter skatt under både tredje kvartalet och hittills i år. Under juli-september backade bolaget till -140,5 miljoner kronor från fjolårets tredje kvartal som var -15,1 miljoner kronor. För de nio första månaderna är förlusten nu nere på -271,3 miljoner kronor, en betydlig ökning från fjolårets resultat vid samma tidpunkt som då var -114,7 miljoner kronor.
Under det tredje kvartalet har investmentbolaget ändå haft en del framgångar. Portföljbolaget Axelar fick positiva resultat i en klinisk fas I/II-studie med läkemedelskandidaten AXL1717 för behandling av cancer. Dilaforette startade en klinisk studie i fas I/II med läkemedelskandidaten sevuparin för behandling av svår malaria.
