Karolinska Developments portföljbolag utvecklar AKN-028, en läkemedelskandidat för behandling av akut myeloisk leukemi. I dag, måndag, doserades den första patienten i en klinisk fas I/II-studie.
Studien är tvådelad och kommer att utföras vid flera olika center i bland annat Sverige, Storbritannien och Polen. Den första studiedelen går ut på att ge patienterna preparatet oralt två gånger per dag i olika doser tills maximalt tolererad dos är uppnådd. Den andra delen kommer att behandla runt 20 patienter för att utvärdera säkerhet, tolerans, farmakokinetik och läkemedelskandidatens effekt på sjukdomen.
