I veckan flyttade Astra Zeneca från Lund för gott och lämnade den 80 000 kvadratmeter stora forksningsanläggningen. Flera nya hyresgäster står i dörren, bland annat Lunds universitet som ska förlägga ett center för cancerforskning i delar av lokalerna.
Beslutet om att flytta cancerforskningen har dock kritiserats av forskare från hemmaplan som menar att processen toppstyrts, skriver Sydsvenskans nätupplaga. Enligt sajten har Lunds universitetes rektor Per Eriksson tecknat ett hyresavtal med Ideon Medicon Villigage om att hyra lokaler för 20 miljoner kronor om året. Den medicinska fakulteten ska totalt ha 5 000 kvadratmeter till sitt förfogande.
– Processen har toppstyrts och detta har jag också framfört till Per Eriksson. Medicinska fakulteten har inte haft möjlighet att påverka vare sig hur stora ytor fakulteten behöver vid en expandering på Medicon Village eller hur expansionen ska se ut, säger professor Ingemar Carlstedt, till Sydsvenskan.se.
Mottagandet av beslutet är olika på universitetet men en osäkerhetsfaktor kvarstår, att det ännu inte är klart vilka forskare och grupper som ska flytta och vilka som ska stanna kvar.
– En del är positiva, andra tvekar. Det är mycket som hänger i luften. Överhuvudtaget så har informationen varit dålig. Forskarna vet ännu inte vad de får om och när de flyttar, säger Gunilla Westergren Thorsson, dekanus för medicinska fakulteten, till Sydsvenskan.se.
Det är inte första gången som en svenskt universitetsledning anklagas för toppstyrning. Under sommaren 2010 skrev ett dussin professorer på Karolinska Institutet en debattartikel till Dagens Nyheter om att det medicinska universitetet blev alltmer centralstyrt. Läs mer om det här.
