Astra Zeneca har tecknat ett avtal med IMS Health som ger läkemedelsbolaget tillgång till sjukvårdsdata från europeiska sjukhus. IMS Health levererar information, tjänster och teknik till sjukvårdssektorn och datan som samlas i tjänsterna kommer från observationsstudier och retrospekiva studier i Europa. All data är anonymiserad och innehåller resultat från klinisk praktik, ekonomiska faktorer och behandlingsmönster.

Samarbetet löper under en treårsperiod och syftet är dels att utvärdera hur läkemedel som finns på den europeiska marknaden fungerar då de används i praktiken. Utöver detta hoppas Astra Zeneca kunna se vilka behandlingsområden som i dag inte är tillfredsställda och på så sätt få idéer till nya behandlingsalternativ.
