Snart ser Sveriges första branschorganisation för CRO-företag dagens ljus.
Ordförande är Peter Asplund, till vardags ansvarig för kliniska prövningar på Quintiles i Sverige och Norge.
Organisationen har än så länge inget namn, men målet är att allt ska vara på plats under det första halvåret 2012.
- Det har förts en diskussion under ett par år om att starta en CRO-organisation och vi i arbetsgruppen har nu stämt av med bland annat Lif, SKL, Läkemedelsverket och vården och fått ett gott gensvar, säger Peter Asplund.
På det övergripande planet kommer organisationen att arbeta för att göra Sverige mer attraktivt som land för kliniska prövningar och trots att frågan drivs av många andra tror Peter Asplund att den nya branschorganisationen kan spela en betydande roll.
- Jag tror att vi i egenskap av CRO-företag är en viktig röst. Vi kommer också att arbeta med att göra det tydligare hur det är att samarbeta med ett CRO-företag, både mot läkemedelsföretagen och mot vården.
CRO-företagen är också en växande arbetsgivare i Sverige och Peter Asplund tror att en branschorganisation kan bidra med att sätta gemensamma standarder för företagen vad gäller till exempel kompetens och utbildning.
- Under första året kommer vi också att arbeta med frågor som till exempel lokal upphandling av CRO-tjänster där vi kan medverka till att skapa större tydlighet och bättre förutsättningar för CRO-företagens kunder att hitta rätt i utbudet av tjänster.
Organsiationen kommer inte bara att vara öppen för svenska företag utan vänder sig till alla CRO-företag som verkar på den svenska marknaden.
Målet är att erbjuda bolagen fullvärdigt eller affilierat medlemskap beroende på respektive bolags förutsättningar.
